The Pioneers: A Showcase Of Inspirational Websites That Use HTML 5 For Markup
Friday, 07 May 2010 04:10
One of the most popular articles on PV.M Garage in this last period has been about the use of HTML 5 and CSS3 to design a clean and elegant website.
The discussion about the new fetures and benefits of the last versions of these famous languages is quite controversial. The main aim of HTML 5 is to improve interoperability and to reduce development costs for websites and web applications, but it is not a W3C recommendation yet and only some modern browsers support the ultramodern tags of the new markup language. We could say the same things for CSS3: great potentiality, but only modern browsers correctly render properties such as box-shadow or border-image. So it would seem that we have to wait for a concrete and widespread use of HTML 5 and CSS3 in our web projects.
However there are many designers who are using HTML5 in their works. Here, in this post, I want to collect the best sites that use HTML 5 for markup in order to provide a deep inspiration, a concrete example of how it is possible to use today HTML 5 and how designers are interpreting the semanthic meaning of the new HTML 5 tags.
