How We're a Green Hosting Provider

 
Renewable Energy Certificates

One of the ways we contribute to the environment and consider ourselves a Green Hosting provider, is by contributing to solar, wind and biomass power solutions which puts clean energy back into the grid. We do this by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificate (RECs) to offset our carbon footprint. REC’s are the credits given by the government to renewable energy producers to encourage investment in this sector and  to encourage transition to the use of clean energy. For every REC we purchase, 1 megawatt per hour of renewable energy is generated. 
 
 
Planting Trees
We also plant a tree for every new customer. We don't actually do the planting of the trees but we donate to the conservation project Plant a Billion Trees. For every $1 we donate they plant 1 tree. For 2010 we had 121 new customers that activated a new order so we donated $121 to The Nature Conservancy who is in charge of this project.
