This is the previous message we sent earlier...

On Saturday, September 4th, 2010 at 2:02pm Eastern US time, a hacker launched an attack on various servers. There is reason to believe the hacker may have obtained the password to your hosting account so we reset it to a random strong password. We did this to protect your account and data from the hacker. Chances are they did not obtain your password (since we caught them in the act and blocked them immediately) but it is better to be safe than sorry.

If you would like to reset your cPanel/FTP password, you can do so from the CLIENT AREA > MY SERVICES > MANAGE. The password that currently shows there is not the new password we changed it to. The password that shows is your old password. The password we changed it to is not in readable format and we did not want to send it to you via email, since email is not secure. If you want to change your password, please do not use the old password again. Instead, please use a new strong password. A strong password is a combination of lower and uppercase letters, numbers and special characters.

Your password to our Client Area should also be changed which can be done by visiting https://interactiveonline.com/support/pwreset.php or login to the Client Area and go to MY DETAILS.

We have blocked the hackers IP 217.30.156.171 http://www.netip.de/search?query=217.30.156.171 which is responsible for the attacks.

Now would be a good time to assess the security of your website. If you are using any old versions of Joomla, WordPress or Drupal, please update them to the newest version. Please also update any old third party extensions or plugins installed to any of the above software.

If you have any questions or have found suspicious activity on your site(s), please open a support ticket by logging into our Client Area. We will continue to monitor the server for any additional abuse and keep you posted with any further info related to the attack.
