Quick answer
Submit a WordPress comment through the relevant public post's comment form. Whether it appears immediately depends on the site's moderation and account settings.
Applies to
For a WordPress site you are authorized to edit. Your WordPress role, installed theme, plugins and editor determine the available controls. Hosting access does not automatically establish WordPress administrator access. The video shows an older version.
Steps
- Open the intended post and its comments area. Confirm that comments are enabled and sign in if required.
- Enter an appropriate comment and any required identity fields, then review it before choosing Post Comment. Do not include passwords or private account information.
- If you administer the site, use Comments to review the submitted item and its moderation state.
Check the result
Confirm the comment or moderation notice in a fresh page view. A missing public comment may be pending review rather than lost.
Troubleshooting and support
If comments are unavailable, check the post's discussion setting and site policy. Do not repeatedly submit duplicate comments to test moderation.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
