Photoshop layers Print

  • 0

Quick answer

Layers separate text, images and effects so they can be edited independently. Select the intended layer before changing an object.

Applies to

For website owners preparing authorized image assets in their own licensed Photoshop installation. Photoshop runs on your computer and is separate from cPanel hosting. The preserved tutorial shows an older interface; this is not a certification of every legacy tool in current releases.

Steps

  1. Open an authorized source image and preserve an untouched copy. Confirm the required website placement, dimensions and any image rights.
  2. Open Window > Layers, name important layers, and inspect visibility, ordering, masks and blend settings. Preserve editable source layers instead of flattening the only copy.
  3. Retain the editable source and export a separately named optimized web asset. Inspect the image at 100% and in the intended browser placement, including a small screen.

Check the result

Check the subject, edges, color, transparency, legibility and delivered file size. A clear editing preview does not prove the exported or uploaded image looks correct.

Troubleshooting and support

If a control from the old video is unavailable, use Adobe's guide for your installed version. For a website crop or display problem, check the actual uploaded file and theme placement before repeatedly editing the original.

Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.

Use the current written guidance above and its references when labels or capabilities differ; the old interface does not establish current hosting availability.
