Quick answer
Import into a deliberate destination after preserving its current state. SQL can overwrite or delete objects as it runs.
Applies to
For the owner or an authorized editor of the website/account named in this article. Confirm the installed product version and permissions. Interactive Online hosting access does not automatically grant an application administrator login.
Steps
- Identify the database used by the intended website. Preserve a verified export and use an isolated copy for consequential changes.
- Inspect the dump, choose an isolated test database and use Import with the matching file format. Read the reported result before attempting another import.
- Compare the resulting structure and representative data, then test the affected application behavior. Preserve newer live orders and inquiries during any recovery.
Check the result
Verify the intended tables, definitions and application result, not only a green completion message.
Troubleshooting and support
For a permission, size or SQL error, retain a redacted error and inspect the exact failure before retrying. Do not drop live tables as an automatic import fix.
Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.
