Quick answer
Use Email Filters for one mailbox and Global Email Filters for the whole account. Test a narrow rule before allowing it to discard, redirect or stop processing messages.
Applies to
For an email-enabled Interactive Online cPanel service. If Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or another provider handles the domain's mail, manage that service there. Confirm the domain and complete mailbox address first.
Steps
- Open Email > Email Filters and choose Manage Filters for the complete mailbox address. Record existing rules and their order.
- Choose Create a New Filter. Give the rule a descriptive name, select the matching field/operator and enter the intended value.
- Choose the required action and save. Check whether multiple conditions use AND or OR and whether later rules should still run.
- Use the interface's filter test where available, followed by controlled matching and nonmatching messages.
Check the result
Confirm a matching message takes the intended path and a nonmatching message still arrives normally. Check rule order when several filters apply.
Troubleshooting and support
Broad subject/body matches can catch legitimate mail. Disable or narrow the specific rule when a valid message is affected, and retain the redacted match details.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
