How to use the IP Blocker in cPanel Print

  • 4

Quick answer

IP Blocker creates rules for the address or range you enter. A mistaken range can block legitimate visitors or your own connection.

Applies to

For Interactive Online cPanel customers with permission to manage the selected service. The tool must be enabled on your plan. Open the correct service from the Client Area before changing anything. The preserved video shows an older interface.

Steps

  1. Confirm the source address from reliable logs and record any existing block. An address shown behind a CDN may not be the visitor's address.
  2. Open Security > IP Blocker. Enter the narrow address or supported range that matches the intended restriction.
  3. Add the rule and keep a record of its purpose. Avoid blocking a large network to solve an unidentified application error.

Check the result

Check the blocked request and an unrelated legitimate request separately. Verify continued administration access.

Troubleshooting and support

If a legitimate request fails, remove the specific matching rule after confirming it. Server firewalls and CDN controls are separate layers and may require support.

If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
