Quick answer
To transfer a domain historically registered through DomainSite.com, first identify its current registrar and reseller. The provider in the old video may no longer control the registration.
Applies to
For the owner or an authorized editor of the website/account named in this article. Confirm the installed product version and permissions. Interactive Online hosting access does not automatically grant an application administrator login.
Steps
- Use the domain's current registration record and your renewal receipt to identify the registrar, account owner and recovery contact. A hosting move and registrar transfer are separate tasks.
- Ask the current registrar about transfer eligibility, locks and the authorization code. Keep DNS, website hosting and mail active; do not cancel them to initiate the transfer.
- Start the transfer with the intended new registrar through its secure process. Review verification messages, fees and timing, then confirm the completed registrar record and continued DNS/mail operation.
Check the result
Confirm the registrar change, new expiry/renewal status and unchanged intended nameservers. Test the website and mail separately.
Troubleshooting and support
If the old login or provider no longer exists, locate the current registrar before following historical menu labels. Keep the authorization code and recovery links out of public messages.
Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.
