Quick answer
Magento Commerce: multiple stores can share configuration, catalog or customers depending on the platform design. Select the exact scope before editing.
Applies to
For a customer who operates their own Magento Commerce store. The retained video uses an older release. Current releases, required extensions and menus can differ. Hosting compatibility, licenses, merchant services and store-development support require their own confirmation; none is automatically included merely because cPanel is available.
Steps
- Confirm the installed Magento Commerce version, authorized store administrator and exact store/language scope. Preserve a recovery copy and use a protected test store for changes affecting transactions.
- Map websites/stores/store views and their domains, shared data and inherited configuration. Test the intended scope on a recovery-protected stage before changing production.
- Save only the intended change and verify the actual storefront and relevant business records before releasing it to customers.
Check the result
Verify each affected storefront and confirm that an intended local override did not change unrelated stores.
Troubleshooting and support
If another store changes unexpectedly, inspect inheritance and shared objects before attempting a broad rollback.
Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.
