Magento Commerce sales settings Print

Quick answer

Magento Commerce: order, invoice, shipment, payment and refund records represent different events. Inspect each before acting on a sale.

Applies to

For a customer who operates their own Magento Commerce store. The retained video uses an older release. Current releases, required extensions and menus can differ. Hosting compatibility, licenses, merchant services and store-development support require their own confirmation; none is automatically included merely because cPanel is available.

Steps

  1. Confirm the installed Magento Commerce version, authorized store administrator and exact store/language scope. Preserve a recovery copy and use a protected test store for changes affecting transactions.
  2. Open Sales > Orders, locate the exact test/order identifier and review payment, fulfillment and refund history. Perform only the intended authorized action.
  3. Save only the intended change and verify the actual storefront and relevant business records before releasing it to customers.

Check the result

Compare the store result with the payment provider and shipment record. A changed label alone does not establish money movement or dispatch.

Troubleshooting and support

For an ambiguous status, preserve redacted identifiers and investigate before charging, refunding or shipping again.

Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.
