Quick answer
Zen Cart: manage the intended customer record without exposing private data or altering unrelated orders. Preserve account ownership and communication preferences.
Applies to
For a customer who operates their own Zen Cart store. The retained video uses an older release. Current releases, required extensions and menus can differ. Hosting compatibility, licenses, merchant services and store-development support require their own confirmation; none is automatically included merely because cPanel is available.
Steps
- Confirm the installed Zen Cart version, authorized store administrator and exact store/language scope. Preserve a recovery copy and use a protected test store for changes affecting transactions.
- Open Customers > Customers, locate the exact customer by a verified identifier and review the intended address, group or status change. Use the supported reset flow rather than asking for the customer's password.
- Save only the intended change and verify the actual storefront and relevant business records before releasing it to customers.
Check the result
Check the saved record and affected account behavior while preserving order history and required records.
Troubleshooting and support
If records look duplicated, compare identifiers and order relationships before deleting or merging anything.
Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.
