How to enable spam protection in cPanel Print

  • 4

Quick answer

Use the Spam Filters controls enabled for your email service and test changes before deleting mail automatically. The video's BoxTrapper challenge workflow is an older option, not a requirement for Interactive Online mail.

Applies to

For an email-enabled Interactive Online cPanel service. If Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or another provider handles the domain's mail, manage that service there. Confirm the domain and complete mailbox address first.

Steps

  1. Open Email > Spam Filters and review the current account-level filtering and destination settings.
  2. Record existing thresholds and allow/block entries. Change one relevant setting at a time; a broad allowlist can bypass useful checks.
  3. Prefer a reviewable spam destination while validating a new threshold. Do not enable automatic deletion before checking false positives and your retention needs.
  4. If BoxTrapper is offered, evaluate its verification challenges separately. Automated receipts and legitimate senders may not answer a challenge.

Check the result

Check recent legitimate and unwanted messages in their actual folders. Confirm that the change addresses the intended symptom without silently losing required mail.

Troubleshooting and support

For missing mail, include a sender, recipient, timestamp/time zone and redacted delivery error in support evidence. Do not treat a message's arrival alone as proof that every spam control works.

If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
