Quick answer
Use the editing and deployment methods your account actually supports. An SSH key does not enable a disabled shell. A local coding agent can still prepare a website, while publication may require a supported transfer interface, CMS workflow, builder, or a different hosting plan.
Before you start
Check your current service and account tools. Nova Free is an editor trial rather than a full developer hosting account. File Manager, SFTP, API access and shell execution are separate capabilities. Interactive Online no longer offers FTP access; creating an FTP subaccount is not a workaround for an account without SSH/SFTP entitlement.
What to do
- Identify the website type and the change. Use the CMS editor for ordinary content if you have an authorized CMS login.
- For static code, generate and test the output locally. Ask support which supported upload or deployment path is available on this exact account.
- If the task needs command-line tools, scheduled processes, or direct server edits, review a suitable developer-capable plan before starting.
- Keep the source, exported package, and backup so you can move to the supported workflow without recreating the work.
Check the result
Confirm a harmless upload or CMS change through the chosen interface and view the result at the intended domain. Do not assume an API token bypasses the account's feature restrictions.
If something does not work
If the account intentionally limits editing to Nova, use Nova's available features and credits or upgrade through secure checkout. Contact support when the needed capability is unclear rather than installing an unapproved remote-access script.
