How to add custom HTML to your Joomla site Print

  • 0

Quick answer

A Custom module can display approved HTML, but user filters and editor rules can remove unsupported markup. Keep secrets and unreviewed scripts out of it.

Applies to

For a customer managing their own Joomla site with the required application permissions. The preserved tutorial uses an older release. Current categories, user permissions and extension workflows differ; a cPanel login alone does not grant Joomla administrator access.

Steps

  1. Confirm the intended Joomla website, installed version and your permissions. Preserve any content/settings you intend to change, using staging for access, global or extension changes.
  2. Create or edit the intended Custom site module, enter the approved content and inspect the saved markup. Set its position, access and menu assignment before publishing.
  3. Inspect the intended result in the correct frontend or administrator context, including a restricted-user or signed-out view when relevant.

Check the result

Verify the intended content, permissions, URL and visitor behavior. Confirm that unrelated articles, users and pages retain their expected behavior.

Troubleshooting and support

If a control from the old video is missing, check the current version's official guide and actual installed extensions. Do not grant broad administrator access or reinstall obsolete components merely to match the tutorial.

Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.

Use the current written guidance above and its references when labels or capabilities differ; the old interface does not establish current hosting availability.
