Quick answer
cPanel Contact Information controls account notifications. It is separate from the Client Area owner profile and does not automatically change a mailbox password or domain registrant contact.
Applies to
For an authorized owner of the Interactive Online cPanel account. Contact Information is an account notification setting, separate from mailbox passwords, Client Area ownership and domain registrant details.
Steps
- Sign in to the intended cPanel account and preserve the current notification contact details.
- Open Preferences > Contact Information. Use an address you can still reach during a website/mail outage, review the available notification preferences and save the intended changes.
- Reopen Contact Information and verify the saved address and notification selections.
Check the result
Reopen the tool to confirm the saved contact and preferences. Review Client Area and registrar contacts separately when those also need updating.
Troubleshooting and support
If the contact cannot be saved, check account permissions and the exact validation error. Review Client Area and registrar contacts separately.
Contact support from the owning account with the domain, product/version, exact error, time/time zone and redacted evidence. Exclude credentials, session URLs, payment details and private customer records. Confirm any separate application-support scope.
