Quick answer
Create a subdomain through Domains > Create a New Domain on current cPanel. Choose the folder that should serve that hostname before publishing files.
Applies to
For Interactive Online cPanel customers with permission to manage the selected service. The tool must be enabled on your plan. Open the correct service from the Client Area before changing anything. The preserved video shows an older interface.
Steps
- Confirm the parent domain, hosting allowance and whether the subdomain needs separate content.
- Open Domains and choose Create a New Domain. Enter the full subdomain, such as preview.example.com, and select a separate document root when appropriate.
- Review the folder and submit. The old video uses a separate Subdomains screen; current Jupiter consolidates domain management.
- Create or verify the record at the authoritative DNS provider and arrange HTTPS before using the subdomain publicly.
Check the result
Check the saved domain/root mapping and load the HTTPS subdomain. A folder existing on disk alone does not establish DNS or certificate readiness.
Troubleshooting and support
If the wrong content appears, compare the actual document root and any shared-root option. A separate folder is not a separate security boundary from the rest of the cPanel account.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
