Quick answer
Change the domain's nameserver delegation in the registrar account that currently manages it. For Register.com, the video is an older menu reference; confirm the current account and preserve mail-related DNS before switching.
Applies to
For a domain registered through Register.com and a service you are authorized to connect. This is a registrar task. Existing registration and account ownership stay with the domain owner.
Steps
- Confirm the current registrar and sign in through your trusted provider link. A hosting account and a domain registration can belong to different providers.
- Obtain the exact nameservers assigned to your Interactive Online service. Copy the existing DNS zone, including MX, SPF, DKIM, verification records and any DNSSEC/DS configuration.
- Open the selected domain's current nameserver/delegation controls. The preserved video follows Domains > Manage > Domain Name System Servers. If the interface or brand has changed, use the current registrar's instructions rather than an old login screen.
- Replace the delegation with the complete assigned nameserver set and finish any owner confirmation. Do not substitute guessed server IP addresses or change registration ownership.
- Confirm the required records exist on the destination DNS service before relying on the new delegation. Coordinate DNSSEC changes when applicable.
Check the result
Check the registrar's saved delegation and authoritative NS answers. Test the website, HTTPS and incoming/outgoing mail. Cached answers depend on their TTLs; a fixed 24-hour promise is unreliable.
Troubleshooting and support
If the wrong site or missing mail appears, compare old and new authoritative zones. Registrar access issues belong with the current registrar; Interactive Online support can confirm assigned hosting nameservers but cannot authenticate into an unrelated registrar account.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
