Edit a Nova website with AI and publish the changes Print

Quick answer

Open your existing Nova project through the eligible cPanel Meridian hosting service, select the text, image, or section you want to change, review the revision in preview, then publish to the same intended domain when the plan allows it. Editing a preview alone does not update the public website.

Applies to

Nova projects opened through an eligible Interactive Online cPanel Meridian service. An HTML export, WordPress page, or Joomla article has a different editing format. Nova for WordPress hands ongoing editing to WordPress; this project workflow does not establish access to an arbitrary existing CMS site.

Open Nova through cPanel Meridian

  1. Open the Interactive Online Client Area, choose the hosting service for this website, and use Log in to cPanel.
  2. In Meridian, open Websites and choose Manage for the intended domain.
  3. On Overview, find Website Builder. For a saved draft, choose Continue with Nova, then select the existing project from Recent projects.
  4. Match the project and domain before editing. A domain with an empty hosting folder can still have a saved Nova draft. Check the builder section before starting another setup.

If the account opens Jupiter or has no Nova control, confirm that you selected the eligible service. Interface and builder availability follow the hosting package.

Before changing the project

Confirm the project and published domain. Save the approved wording and original assets for the affected section. Identify shared elements such as headers or footers, because changing them can affect several pages. Keep a recoverable hosting copy when replacing an existing site.

Change text or an image

  1. Open the correct project and page. Use the building/editing mode rather than a planning-only conversation. The current launch screen labels building mode Build; some vendor instructions call it Agent Mode.
  2. Choose Edit in the top navigation. Select the element in the preview and confirm the highlight surrounds the intended element.
  3. For text, ask for the precise replacement in the selected element and choose Ask. Read the resulting wording and check that adjacent elements remain correct.
  4. For an image, select it and use Upload from device or Choose existing asset. Use an image you may publish. Check its crop and provide useful alternative text through the available controls or a specific revision request.
  5. Use the style panel for the available typography, spacing, and color controls. Apply one change at a time; confirm it before selecting another element.
On the Services page, change only the selected heading to "Garden care throughout the year". Keep its existing font, size, links, neighboring text, and page layout. Show the preview after this change. Do not publish.

Change a section or shared content

For a larger revision, describe the page, section, desired result, and elements to preserve. Ask Nova to explain whether the element is shared. Review the affected page and another page using the same header, footer, or reusable section.

Preview, publish, and verify

  1. Check desktop, tablet, and phone previews, including navigation and long text. Confirm the change persists when switching between editing and preview.
  2. Choose Publish. If the plan permits publication, confirm the same intended domain and wait for completion. If Unlock more possibilities appears, publishing is restricted by the current plan and no deployment has completed.
  3. Open the public HTTPS page in a private window. Verify the exact text or image, another page with shared content, and any affected button or form.

Troubleshooting and recovery

  • Edit is unavailable: confirm the correct Nova project, building/editing mode, and available account features. If activation does not complete, keep the current draft and report the exact message to support.
  • The wrong element changes: stop and reselect the intended element. Avoid several overlapping requests before reviewing the result.
  • Preview is correct but the public page is old: confirm publication completed on the correct domain, then check the relevant browser or website cache.
  • You need to undo a revision: review Nova's previous-prompt history and its regeneration behavior before proceeding. Later work can be affected. Preview the restored result and publish it if approved. Prompt history does not replace a hosting files/database backup or preserve new submissions automatically.

When to contact support

Contact Interactive Online if the hosting destination or available account tools are unclear. Include the affected URL, service name, time and time zone, exact error, and a screenshot with private details replaced by sample data. Keep passwords, private keys, API tokens, customer records, and billing information out of the message. Your external AI provider handles its subscription and usage limits.
