Quick answer
Create a WordPress post under Posts > Add New Post, review its categories and public preview, then publish or schedule when ready.
Applies to
For a WordPress site you are authorized to edit. Your WordPress role, installed theme, plugins and editor determine the available controls. Hosting access does not automatically establish WordPress administrator access. The video shows an older version.
Steps
- Open Posts and create a draft, or select the existing post you intend to update.
- Write the title and content, then review categories, tags, featured image, excerpt, author and visibility as applicable. Use descriptive links and image alt text.
- Preview the actual public template and check links. Review the publication date/time zone before choosing Publish or Schedule.
Check the result
Open the public URL and confirm the post, author/date and relevant archive listing. A preview URL is not the final public URL.
Troubleshooting and support
If a scheduled post does not appear, check its actual status and site time zone with support before repeatedly publishing duplicate posts.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
