Quick answer
WordPress sites may use the block editor, Site Editor, classic editor, Divi, Elementor, or another builder. Use the editing system responsible for the page to avoid replacing its layout or stored content unintentionally.
Using AI with this editor
Ask the AI to identify the editor and the content item before proposing a write. Drafting new wording is safe to separate from applying it. A generic content API does not necessarily edit a builder layout correctly.
- Prepare and apply WordPress text and image changes
- Use the Divi 5 AI Agent
- Use Elementor AI and compatible MCP tools
Before you begin
Sign in with a role that can edit the content. Identify the exact URL and save a screenshot of its current appearance before making changes.
What to do
- Open the page from the page list and inspect its editing options. A builder-specific button may identify the system managing its layout.
- Decide whether the change concerns page content, a shared template, header, or navigation. Shared elements can affect many pages.
- For a block theme, use the Site Editor for templates and global design. Use the existing builder for a builder-managed page rather than converting it casually.
- Work on staging or make a draft change, then preview the actual page. Preserve its title, URL, and unrelated template settings.
- Save after checking phone and computer widths. Record the editor and content item so future editors can follow the same route.
How to check the result
The page should retain its intended structure and editing controls. Check another page using the same template when changing shared content. An editor preview does not prove the public result is correct.
If you need help
If you see raw shortcodes, unfamiliar markup, or an empty layout, stop before saving. Send the URL and editing-screen screenshot. A missing builder plugin or permission may need a separate review.
