Edit an Elementor page with AI and supported MCP tools Print

Quick answer

Use the AI tools supported by your installed Elementor editor, or an approved external MCP connection that understands its native elements. Check whether the page uses the older V3 editor or the newer V4 Atomic editor before following a connected editing tutorial.

Applies to

Interactive Online-hosted WordPress sites using Elementor. Installed versions, Elementor features, AI allowances, and customer permissions determine available tools. The documented V4 MCP workflow does not establish compatibility with every older layout, third-party widget, or plan.

Use AI inside the editor

  1. Keep a recoverable page revision and record the URL. Open the page through Pages > All Pages > Edit with Elementor or the site's existing editor entry point.
  2. Identify the section and whether it uses a shared template, global style, or reusable component. Choose the AI control actually available for that element.
  3. Give a specific request, review the result, and accept only the intended change. For copy, ChatGPT or Claude can also prepare wording for you to apply manually.
  4. Inspect native editor controls, phone/tablet layouts, buttons, images, and another page using any changed shared styling.
  5. Use the normal draft, preview, and update controls. Verify the public HTTPS page after saving.

Use an external AI connection

Elementor documents an MCP route for its V4 Atomic editor through WordPress AI Abilities. It can expose native page and design operations to compatible external tools. Confirm the exact installation and connection instructions for your current version before enabling it.

  1. Have the owner review the connector, required plugins/features, authentication, supported element types, and user role.
  2. Connect through the supported secure setup flow. Keep credentials out of the conversation.
  3. Ask the connected tool to identify the site, page ID, editor version, and available operations without changing anything.
  4. Test one approved draft section, inspect the proposed diff, apply the limited revision, and verify it in Elementor and preview.
  5. Prove that the revision can be reversed. Approve live publication separately and verify the saved public result.
Inspect the selected Elementor page without making changes. Identify whether it uses supported Atomic elements or older widgets. Propose a change to the Services introduction only. Preserve its native elements, global styles, links, templates, and other pages. Do not publish or convert the editor format.

Troubleshooting and recovery

If connected tools are absent, verify version compatibility, registered abilities, authentication, and the actual tool list. If an old widget is unsupported, use its normal editor rather than converting the whole page. Revert through the supported revision/history controls when needed. Regenerating every section to fix one heading can overwrite approved work and consume additional AI usage.

When to contact support

Contact Interactive Online if the hosting destination or available account tools are unclear. Include the affected URL, service name, time and time zone, exact error, and a screenshot with private details replaced by sample data. Keep passwords, private keys, API tokens, customer records, and billing information out of the message. Your external AI provider handles its subscription and usage limits.

Use the community WordPress Elementor skill

Jezweb's WordPress Elementor skill for Claude Code guides existing-page editing through separately authorized tools. Its declared compatibility and older widget examples differ from Elementor's official V4 MCP workflow. Check the skill installation and active client; do not assume installing instructions enables a connector or makes database replacements page-specific.
