Edit a Divi 5 page with the Divi AI Agent Print

Quick answer

On a compatible Divi 5 site with an active Divi AI subscription, open the Visual Builder and use its AI Agent to inspect and revise an existing section. Start in Ask mode, limit the proposed change, then preview and save the approved result.

Applies to

Divi 5 with the vendor's current AI Agent. Divi 4 and a standard Divi membership do not automatically include this workflow. AI access and metered usage follow the customer's Elegant Themes account. Interactive Online hosting does not supply a personal external AI subscription.

Inspect the existing page

  1. Record the public URL and keep a recoverable page/layout revision. Check whether a section is local to the page or shared through the Theme Builder, a global element, or presets.
  2. Open the intended page in the Divi 5 Visual Builder. Open the AI Agent through its AI control.
  3. Select Ask mode and ask the agent to identify the page's sections and the intended module without changing it. Compare that description with the visible builder.
  4. Specify one section and the exact result. Preserve shared styles, global elements, URLs, and the existing call-to-action destination unless they are the task.
In Ask mode, identify the heading and introductory text in this page's Services section. Explain whether either uses a shared preset or global element. Propose shorter wording using the facts already present. Do not modify the page yet.

Revise, preview, and save

  1. Review the proposed wording or layout change. When you want it applied, deliberately switch to the available write-capable mode and approve the scoped request.
  2. Inspect the changed native modules. Confirm you can still edit them normally in Divi.
  3. Check tablet and phone widths, text wrapping, spacing, image crops, button destinations, and keyboard navigation. Inspect another page if a shared item changed.
  4. Save the approved page through the builder's normal controls. Open the public URL privately and verify the result. Keep the prior revision until acceptance.

External chat and MCP

ChatGPT or Claude can draft copy for you to apply manually in Divi. That does not require direct site access. Elegant Themes currently describes its native MCP support as forthcoming. Third-party Divi connectors are separate products requiring their own compatibility, permission, privacy, and recovery review. Do not treat an external subscription or an unrelated WordPress connector as proof that it can preserve Divi layout data.

Troubleshooting

  • No Agent control: confirm the actual Divi version, vendor account, subscription, and current feature availability.
  • Usage balance is exhausted: inspect the vendor's usage and billing controls before retrying. Hosting and AI allowances are separate.
  • Other pages changed: inspect global elements, templates, or presets and restore only the intended prior revision.
  • Builder looks right but public page differs: confirm the save completed and clear only the relevant cache.

When to contact support

Contact Interactive Online if the hosting destination or available account tools are unclear. Include the affected URL, service name, time and time zone, exact error, and a screenshot with private details replaced by sample data. Keep passwords, private keys, API tokens, customer records, and billing information out of the message. Your external AI provider handles its subscription and usage limits.

Use DiviOps with an external coding assistant

For a separate third-party route, see DiviOps skills with Codex or Claude Code for Divi 5. That workflow requires its own WordPress plugin, MCP server and current authoring skill. It is independent of Elegant Themes' built-in AI Agent. Follow the published compatibility and permission checks before connecting or editing a site.
