Before you begin
Identify the exact collection and its assigned theme template. Record the current sort setting and a few example product positions so you can compare the result.
What to do
- Open Products > Collections, then open the relevant collection.
- Find its product sort control and select the order you want. Use the manual option only when you need to arrange individual items yourself.
- For a manually sorted list, arrange the intended items and save. Do not rename products merely to force their position unless those names are also correct for customers.
- Open the collection as a visitor and check the default order. Review any sort option the visitor has selected and any app that overrides merchandising.
Check the result
Test the default collection URL in a fresh session on desktop and phone. Confirm that the menu points to this collection rather than a different collection, filtered URL, or app landing page.
If the problem continues
If the saved order differs from the displayed order, send support the collection URL, chosen sort setting, template, and merchandising-app name. Keep the current evidence before changing another setting.
