Quick answer
The bulk editor is useful for a controlled set of product or variant price changes. Start with a small selection and verify saved results before expanding the change.
Applies to
For the owner or authorized staff of the selected Shopify store, with the permissions needed for this task. Shopify hosts the store separately from a cPanel hosting account. Features and workflows depend on the current Shopify plan, theme and apps.
Before you begin
Prepare the approved price list and currency context. Save an export or another recoverable record of the affected values. A theme backup does not preserve catalog prices.
What to do
- Filter Products to the intended items and select them. Open Bulk edit, then show only the columns needed for the task, such as price and compare-at price.
- Match each row to its product and variant. Enter the approved values without filling unrelated cells or applying a whole-column change accidentally.
- Save and wait for completion. If Shopify reports invalid values, inspect the affected rows and any hidden required fields instead of repeatedly submitting the same selection.
- Reopen a sample of saved items before working on another batch. Manage multi-variant stock through Inventory rather than assuming the product bulk view covers location quantities.
Check the result
Compare the admin values, storefront price, selected variants, and cart. Check any market-specific pricing or app price display separately from the base catalog values.
If the problem continues
If the bulk editor is slow, reduce the batch. Give support the affected product IDs and exact validation message. Keep your before-value record until you have confirmed the change.
