Quick answer
Roundcube identities control the sender details used when composing. An identity does not create a new mailbox or authorize you to send as an unrelated domain.
Applies to
For the correct mailbox in Roundcube webmail on an email-enabled Interactive Online service. Open it through cPanel Email Accounts > Check Email or the trusted webmail link. Skin, version and provider settings can change labels.
Steps
- Open Settings > Identities and review the existing identities.
- Create or edit an identity using an address you are authorized to use. Set the display name, Reply-To and signature as required, then save.
- Compose a test and choose the intended identity from From. Keep the service's sender authentication requirements in place.
Check the result
Inspect a received test and its reply destination. Check authentication/delivery failures before using the identity for customers.
Troubleshooting and support
If an identity is rejected or mail is treated as spoofed, confirm sender authorization and mail authentication. Do not invent a From address to bypass a restriction.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
