Quick answer
Terminating a WHM account removes its hosting data. Verify an independent, restorable copy of required files, databases, mail and DNS before any authorized termination.
Applies to
For an authorized reseller or administrator whose Interactive Online service includes the relevant WHM permission. Ordinary website hosting uses cPanel and does not imply WHM or root access. Work only with accounts you own or are explicitly authorized to administer. The video is an older interface reference.
Steps
- Confirm the exact username/domain, owner authorization and service dependencies. Distinguish permanent termination from temporary suspension.
- Export and verify the required recovery materials outside the account. Record any DNS or external-service consequences.
- Open the permitted Terminate Accounts tool, select only the intended account and review all confirmation and DNS-retention options. Execute only when the recovery and authorization requirements are met.
Check the result
Confirm the intended account was removed and unrelated accounts remain. Retain the recovery materials according to the agreed retention requirement.
Troubleshooting and support
Do not assume termination cancels billing, registration or an external service. If uncertain, contact support before proceeding.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
