For a WordPress site you are authorized to edit. Your WordPress role, installed theme, plugins and editor determine the available controls. Hosting access does not automatically establish WordPress administrator access. The video shows an older version.
Steps
- Confirm the site owner's Mailchimp account, audience and consent requirements. Review any existing signup integration before installing the official MC4WP plugin.
- Follow the current secure connection/API settings and keep the key out of page HTML, screenshots and support messages.
- Create the form, map its fields to the correct audience and review confirmation/double-opt-in behavior and messages. Embed it on the intended page.
- Check integrations, appearance, redirects and logging for the actual requirement. A connected API does not automatically place the form on a page.
Check the result
Use an address you control, complete any required confirmation and verify the subscriber's audience/status.
Troubleshooting and support
If signup fails, check field mapping, audience permissions, confirmation state and the redacted integration error. Do not import or email unrelated contacts as a test.
If the problem continues, contact support from the account that owns the service. Include the domain, exact error, time and time zone, tool name, and a redacted screenshot. Keep passwords, private keys, cookies and private message content out of the ticket.
