Google has announced the launch of a new AI image generation tool called Google Bard, which allows users to create images for free. The tool is available in English and in most countries. This new capability is significant as it provides another option for generating visually interesting image content for free, joining other AI image generation tools that have made advancements in the past year such as Midjourney, DALL-E, and Bing Chat/Copilot.

Using Google Bard is simple – users can enter a prompt for the image they want to create, and the tool will present them with four images, with the option of generating more. Google has also provided screenshots and examples of Bard-generated images, which appear to be of high quality and photorealistic.

The technology powering Bard’s image generation is called Imagen 2, which according to Google, delivers high-quality photorealistic outputs. All images created with Bard will be marked with a SyntID digital watermark.

There are certain limits and restrictions to using Bard. Google has stated that Bard will limit violent, offensive, and sexually explicit content, and will try to avoid generating images of named people using filters.

Overall, Google Bard represents a significant advancement in AI image generation technology, providing users with a free and easy-to-use tool for creating visually interesting images. With its ability to generate high-quality, photorealistic images, Bard has the potential to be a valuable resource for individuals and businesses looking to create visual content. Additionally, its restrictions on certain types of content demonstrate Google’s commitment to responsible and ethical usage of AI technology. This new tool is likely to be welcomed by content creators and designers who are looking for a quick and accessible way to generate images.
